    Work item

    A work item is an object that contains the definition, assignment, priority, and state of work.  So a Work item is thereby a formalized task that can pinpoint a function and/or data set with additional assignment and time information. A Work item can be seen as the post-it note that you set on a document in order to tell a certain person what he/she shall do with the document with priority and due date.

    In Comflow a Work Item can pinpoint a work reference, which is the function to go to and the right data it it shall initiate to directly start working with the data that the task is related to.
