Roles

Roles are used when working with processes i.e. not with single tasks which have been the topic of previous chapters. This chapter is therefore only relevant when setting up process authorization.

In contrast to users, roles are defined in design time (with Comflow Studio) and only authorization association to users and/or user groups are done in the runtime browser GUI. The latter is the scope of this chapter.

Selecting the Roles task will take you to the roles main portlet as below.

Associate a user and a user group to a Role – By example

In this example we will associate the user “comact” and the user group “P-ADMIN” to the role “PurchaseResp”.

  1. Right click on the role “PurchaseResp” and choose “update” as in Figure 223.

Expand the User segment

Check the user “comact” and the user group “P-ADMIN” and then press “Update” as in Figure 225 Update role, view III

Refreshes the view

Cancels role association and returns to the previous view

Confirms association of user(s) and/or user group(s) to role
