Generic Data Maintenance

Using the Generic Data Maintenance task makes it possible to create, update, delete, copy and/or view records in any table used by the runtime environment.

The Generic Data Maintenance task is located in System Administration -> Master Data in the Navigator tree as shown in Figure 31.

Selecting the Generic Data Maintenance task will take you to the Generic Data Maintenance main portlet as below.

Generic data maintenance – By example

In this example we will update the Purchase Price for the item “90009” located in the ItemMaster table that is part of the CAAPPS Metadata id.

1. Select the appropriate Metadata id (here CAAPPS) and press the Next button as below:

Find and select (row click) the desired table (here ItemMaster):

Find the desired item to be updated (her item “90009”), right click the item and choose Update:

All columns of the selected item will now be shown in an editable list.

Alter the desired field (here Purchase Price) and press the Update button:

The Purchase Price is now updated!

Generic data maintenance – Create, copy, delete or view a record

In the same way as the update operation in the example in chapter 1.4.1, a specific table record can be created, copied, deleted and/or viewed!
