Functions

A function is a work task, technically called a Task, performed by a user, for example an Item Registration task or a Users administration task .


Function Groups

A function group, technically called a Task group, is a collection of functions that are grouped into one entity. 

Selecting the task group maintenance task will take you to the task group maintenance main portlet as below.

Right clicking in the task group maintenance main portlet will give you all possible group administration actions; create, update, copy and delete.

Task groups are either pre defined (part of the installation) or defined by a user. When the check box is checked it means that the task group has been pre defined.

Refreshes the view

Closes the task

Create a Task Group

To create a task group right click in the task group maintenance portlet and choose Create as below.

Refreshes the view

Cancels the creation of a task group and returns to the previous view

Confirms creation of a task group and returns to the previous view

Update a Task Group

To update a task group either left click on the group in the groups portlet or right click on the group and choose Update as below.

Copy a Task Group

To copy a task group right click on the group and choose Copy as below

Delete a Task Group

To delete a task group right click on the group and choose Delete as below

Associate tasks with a task group

Association of tasks to task groups is done either when creating, updating or copying a task group.

When you create a task group as described in chapter 4.4.1.1, updating a task group as described in chapter 4.4.1.2 or copying a task group, chapter 4.4.1.3 , you have the possibility to associate tasks to the task group.

In the lower browse segment you select all the task groups the task should belong to by checking the checkboxes.

To confirm the Task association press Create (when creating a task group) or Update (when updating or copying a task).
